> TalkTalk - was going to try them for broadband until I was on their website on that infamous day last week and nothing worked - then the next day I found out why. Not happy with her tone or her information. You could even hear how frustrated/annoyed she was that I was asking the question when she was trying to close a sale (another contract). > BT (3 years ago completely lost my order when I ordered online even though I had the confirmation email to prove - go figure!) and now the customer service person has annoyed me even more. > Virgin (completely cocked up everything when I switched away from them 3 years ago) So my list of providers that have upset me in some way or other in recent years: You can pause and rewind live TV, and if you buy a YouView+ box you can record programmes as well. Sounds like it's time to try it and see what happens. Just plug the Stream box into your TV to access faves like Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, and Netflix (if you subscribe), as well as all the TV channels and apps. What is YouView It's essentially a set top box you for your TV that combines two over 70 channels of basic digital TV, and catch up and on demand services via a broadband connection. The number includes your wages, salary, tips you reported, bonuses and. 70 free channels, plus extra subscription channels like BT Sports, Sky. Box 1: Box 1 reports your total taxable wages or salary for federal income tax purposes. So looks like BT Customer service are still spouting the same old BS. Go large on channel choice with a broadband package from our friends at BT and TalkTalk. In its latest generation form, the new YouView+ box from BT is again manufactured by Humax, but looks to change and improve the YouView offering. In nearly every thread I found a BT person had to step in and say basically what is in the link I posted. There seem to be a number of posts on the BT Community forums where people have been told that cancelling their sub will result in the box becoming effectively a glorified door stop. Other links I found alongside that one seem to suggest you are not alone in getting the "your box is a pile of useless tat if you ever have the temerity to leave the wonderful BT service" line spun at you. And staff should be very clear with consumers because this approach is bound to persuade the majority to stay with the service from BT when it seems they don't have to. This is the kind of sales approach that leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. In the UK you don't have to pay for Freeview, and yet you're saying I have to pay?"īasically she said, "I wouldn't call it 'paying' but we have to charge you for it in order for you to use the Youview+ box to get TV on BT". I said "I already own the box.and I only want standard Freeview I don't need any other channels. She said "no you must pay us in order to use the channels". It's very annoying because I asked the lady at BT (who was trying to sell me a new contract for a new house that I'm moving into) if I could use MY BT youview+ box with Freeview and not pay the BT TV subscription. Thanks Chris, That post you linked to looks quite clear.
